Warm, honest, and down-to-earth therapy

I work in a warm, honest and down-to-earth way, offering a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore what is happening for you at your own pace.

My approach is integrative and person-centred, which means I believe you are the expert on your own life and that counselling works best when you feel heard, accepted and genuinely understood.

I place the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the work, offering empathy, respect and honesty as we explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences together. I will not tell you what to do or push you in a direction that does not feel right for you.

Instead, I will listen carefully, reflect with you, gently support your self-awareness, and help you begin to make sense of patterns, emotions or experiences that may be leaving you feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unsure of your way forward.

Areas I work with

Counselling can offer space to talk about things that feel difficult to carry alone. You may be struggling with any of the following – or something else entirely. Please do get in touch.

🌿

Anxiety & Stress

Support for anxiety, overwhelm, OCD, obsessions, and the pressures of everyday life. Learn to understand your patterns and find steadier ground.

🕊️

Grief & Bereavement

Compassionate support through loss – of a person, a relationship, a role or a life stage. Grief is not linear, and you don’t have to face it alone.

🌱

Trauma

Trauma-aware, sensitive support for those carrying painful memories or past experiences. Sessions are always led by your readiness and sense of safety.

💬

Depression & Low Mood

A non-judgemental space to explore feelings of depression, low self-worth, and the sense of being stuck or not good enough.

🤝

Relationships & Identity

Support around relationship difficulties, sexuality, LGBTQ+ concerns, men’s issues, neurodiversity, and personal development.

Also: addiction, eating disorders, self-harm, spirituality, work-related issues & more

Not sure where to start?

That’s completely okay. Feel free to get in touch and I’ll do my best to answer any questions you have.

Frequently asked

What happens in the first session? +
The first session is an opportunity for us to meet, talk through what has brought you to counselling, and begin to understand what support you may be looking for. There is no expectation for you to know exactly where to begin. We’ll also cover how I work, confidentiality, fees and any questions you have.
How long does therapy usually take? +
There is no single answer – it depends on what brings you to therapy and what your goals are. I offer both short-term and long-term work, and we’ll review progress together as we go so you are always in control.
Do you offer online or telephone sessions? +
Yes – I offer online therapy via a secure platform, telephone sessions, and home visits alongside face-to-face work in Howe Street and Maldon. Many clients find online and telephone therapy just as effective as in-person sessions.
How much does a session cost? +
Sessions start from £45. I offer concessionary rates for those who need them – please don’t hesitate to ask. I’d rather find a way to make this work than have cost be a barrier to getting support.
Is everything I share confidential? +
Yes. Everything discussed in sessions is confidential. The only exceptions are where there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, or a legal obligation to disclose – I will explain this clearly in our first session. As a BACP Registered Member I adhere to their ethical framework.
Who do you work with? +
I work with adults, older adults, trainees and young people. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and welcome clients from all backgrounds. If you’re unsure whether I’m the right fit, please get in touch for an informal chat.

Ready to take the first step?

Reaching out is often the hardest part. However you’re feeling, I’m here and I’d love to hear from you. You don’t need to have everything figured out.
